Dr. Claus Narr is a New Member of the Management

Diode laser specialist Laserline is expanding its management team to optimally position itself for further growth. Dr. Claus Narr became the company’s third managing director on January 1, 2025. Dr. Narr, who holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering, can already look back on more than 13 successful years at the company and will now manage Laserline together with the founders Dr. Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause.

Mülheim-Kärlich, February 26, 2025 – Laserline, the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of diode lasers for industrial material processing, is expanding its management team. Dr. Claus Narr became the third managing director alongside company founders Dr. Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause on January 1, 2025. He completed his doctorate in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and, during his time at the Laboratory for Machine Tools, was group leader for production logistics as well as managing director of the RWTH startup myOpenFactory. Dr. Claus Narr has been working at Laserline since 2011 and has held a variety of key positions.

He started as an assistant to the management, supporting the management team in establishing the branch in Shanghai, China, and in expanding production and administrative capacities at the headquarters in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany. He then took over the role of Head of Production in the field of compact diode lasers, and later, became Head of Quality Management and Service. Most recently, he was Head of Production and Service. In 2021, he was appointed Managing Director of the new subsidiary Backes Electronic. As a member of Laserline’s management team, he will support the founders in managing the operational business.
